A calmer way to manage COPD, one day at a time.

The app asks you to confirm you've read and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy before you can use it, and by checking that box you agree to both. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
My COPD Buddy provides general education about COPD, tools to organize your own medications, appointments, and symptoms, guided breathing and movement coaching, and links out to established resources like the American Lung Association, pulmonary rehab directories, and medical transportation finders. That is the full scope of what it does.
My COPD Buddy never diagnoses a flare-up, pneumonia, or any other condition. It never prescribes or changes a medication or dose. It never changes an oxygen flow rate or a CPAP/BiPAP setting. It never replaces urgent or emergency care, and it never tells you to ignore worsening symptoms. Anything you enter — a COPD Action Plan, an oxygen target, a symptom pattern — comes from you or from your clinician; the app only stores and organizes it back to you.
Nothing in this app is medical advice, and nothing in it should replace the judgment of a licensed clinician who knows your history. Always follow your own doctor's or care team's instructions over anything general education in this app describes. If you think you're having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number right away.
Educational content is written against current guidance from sources including GOLD, the American Lung Association, ATS, ERS, AARC, the CDC, FDA, NIH, EPA/AirNow, and the Alpha-1 Foundation, and is reviewed by respiratory therapists — see Settings → About in the app for who and when. Medical guidance changes over time, and mistakes are possible despite that care. If anything in the app seems to conflict with what your own care team has told you, follow your care team.
The app and its content are provided as is, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any harm connected to your use of the app, including decisions made based on its content. To the same extent, our total liability to you for any claim connected to the app is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it — which, if you bought the one-time Buddy Plus unlock, is that purchase price, and otherwise is nothing. Nothing here limits rights that consumer protection law in your country or state gives you and won't let us take away.
Managing a chronic condition involves real risk, and an educational, organizational app doesn't remove it. By using My COPD Buddy, you accept responsibility for the decisions you make about your own health, including anything based on what you tracked, read, or were reminded of in the app. Use your own judgment and your care team's guidance — not the app's content alone — when making those decisions.
If a claim, loss, or expense arises from your use of the app in a way that violates these terms, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable costs connected to defending against it. This doesn't apply to claims arising from our own violation of these terms or of applicable law.
The app is free to download. For the first 3 days after you first open it, every feature is unlocked. After that, a core set of features stays free to use for as long as you like, and the rest ("Buddy Plus") can be unlocked with a single optional one-time in-app purchase of $6.99 (United States; the equivalent amount in your local currency elsewhere, as set by Apple's App Store). There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
The purchase is processed by Apple through your App Store account. We never receive or store your payment details, your card, or your Apple ID. If you reinstall the app or use another device signed in with the same Apple ID, "Restore Purchases" re-activates the unlock at no extra cost. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's policies, not by us.
The screen that offers Buddy Plus is provided by Superwall, a third-party service. It is involved only with that offer screen and receives no health information or anything you enter in the app. See the Privacy Policy for what it does and does not receive.
We may change the price for future buyers, or change which features are free versus part of Buddy Plus. A change like that never revokes an unlock you have already paid for, and nothing you logged while a feature was available to you is deleted if that feature later moves behind Buddy Plus. If the purchase model changes in a more significant way, this page will be updated before that version ships.
Some screens link out to other organizations' websites — the American Lung Association's Better Breathers Club directory, pulmonary rehab and medical ride finders, medication manufacturers, and airlines. Those pages belong to their own organizations, under their own terms and privacy practices. My COPD Buddy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the GOLD Initiative, the American Lung Association, ATS, ERS, AARC, the Alpha-1 Foundation, EPA/AirNow, or any organization it links to.
My COPD Buddy is an independent app built by SkillQuestApps. It is not a medical device and has not been evaluated or cleared by the FDA.
My COPD Buddy is intended for adults managing their own COPD, or for a caregiver helping them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
My COPD Buddy has no account and no server of ours — what you enter stays on your device. See the full Privacy Policy for exactly what's stored and the one piece of information (a ZIP code, for Air Quality) that ever leaves your phone.
We may update, change, or discontinue My COPD Buddy, or any part of it, at any time. Because there's no account, there's nothing for us to individually suspend or terminate — removing the app from your device stops your use of it. If we ever discontinue the app entirely, we'll aim to give reasonable notice through its App Store listing.
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and SkillQuestApps about My COPD Buddy, and replace any earlier understanding about it. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't act on a violation of these terms right away, that doesn't waive our right to act on it later. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; you may not assign them without our consent.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute not otherwise resolved will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, and you agree to that venue. This doesn't limit any right you have under your own state's or country's consumer protection law that this clause can't override.
If these terms change, the update will ship with the app version it applies to, and the date at the top of this page will change.
