This Privacy Policy explains how the W2G Handpay app ("W2G Handpay," "the App," "we," "us") handles information. W2G Handpay is a record-keeping aid for gambling sessions and the tax position that results from them.
Short version: W2G Handpay has no accounts and no server. Your diary, your W-2G forms, and every photograph you take stay on your device and are never uploaded, and we never see any of it. The one exception is purchase processing — a limited set of device and purchase information goes to the service that runs the paywall, described in Section 7.
W2G Handpay does not ask for, collect, or transmit:
We do not use general-purpose analytics or advertising SDKs. The one third-party service in the App is the purchase processor described in Section 7 — nothing else about you or your records is shared, and we do not sell your data.
Everything W2G Handpay records is written to your device's own private app storage:
This information is protected by iOS app sandboxing and is accessible only to W2G Handpay. It is included in your device backups if you have iPhone or iCloud backup enabled — those backups are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy, not ours. Deleting the App deletes everything it stored.
W2G Handpay requests camera access so you can photograph a W-2G form, a cash-out voucher, or a machine's credit meter. You can also choose an image you already have in your photo library.
Images are read using Apple's on-device text recognition. No image is ever sent to us or to any third party for processing, and there is no server involved at any point. If you decline camera access, every part of the App still works — you can type figures in by hand.
When you attach a photograph to a record, W2G Handpay keeps it on your device as your substantiation, because an image of the form is stronger proof than a typed figure. You can delete it at any time by deleting the record.
A Form W-2G shows your Social Security number in box 9, and payer and state identification numbers in boxes 11 and 12. W2G Handpay locates those boxes specifically so that it can exclude them. Their contents are never read out, never stored as text, and never appear in any field, export, or log.
If you photograph a form, the image itself will of course still show those numbers, exactly as the paper does. That image stays on your device under the same protection as the rest of your records. Bear it in mind when you decide where to send an export.
W2G Handpay offers an optional "Find nearby" feature that looks up casinos and gaming establishments around you, so you can fill in a venue's name and address in one tap.
This is the only feature that looks up your location. W2G Handpay's other use of the network — processing your purchase — is described in Section 7.
W2G Handpay can produce a CSV file containing your session diary and tax summary, intended for a tax preparer. That file is created on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet.
Where it goes from there is entirely your choice — email, Files, AirDrop, or another app. Once you send it somewhere, that destination's privacy practices apply, not ours. We never receive a copy.
W2G Handpay contains no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting service. It uses two third-party services, each scoped to one purpose:
Your payment itself — card number, Apple ID, billing details — is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; neither we nor Superwall ever see it.
W2G Handpay is intended for adults of legal gambling age. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal information at all.
We do not operate a server, so there is no server of ours holding your gambling records or any personal information. Purchase processing is handled by Superwall on its own infrastructure, as described in Section 7. Information stored on your device is protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and by your device passcode and encryption.
Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. You control all on-device data directly: export it whenever you like, delete individual records in the App, or delete the App to remove everything it stored.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here and, where appropriate, noted in the App.
