Privacy Policy

The short version. Respiratory Study Buddy has no account, no sign-in, and no server of ours. Your study content and your progress stay on your iPhone or iPad. There is no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites. The one thing that reaches the internet is a small amount of technical information handled by Superwall, the company that provides the optional Full Access offer screen — and only around that screen. Superwall never receives anything you study, enter, or track.

What the app keeps on your device

Everything the app records about your studying is saved on the device itself, using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults:

Your study progress — which cards you have reviewed, marked Got it or Missed it, and saved
Your scores and attempt history for quizzes, the mock exam, and CSE cases
Entries you add to the Study Calendar, and whether a reminder is set for them
Values you type into the ABG Calculator (used to show the result and its step-by-step math, then discarded — they are not saved)
Preferences: the name shown in your greeting, and the app's own content and settings state

None of this is transmitted to us. We cannot see it, and there is nowhere for it to be uploaded to — the app has no backend service and no sync.

What the app does not do

No account. You never create one, and there is nothing to sign in to.
No advertising, and no cross-app tracking. The app contains no advertising software and does not track you across other apps or websites. It has one third-party component — Superwall, described in the next section — and it only handles the Full Access offer screen.
No study data ever leaves the app. Your progress, scores, saved cards, calculator entries, and calendar dates are never sent anywhere — not to us, not to Apple beyond the purchase itself, and not to Superwall.
No payment details. The Full Access purchase is handled by Apple's App Store. We run no store and no account system, so your name and payment details never reach us. Your device keeps track of whether the unlock is active.
No health-app access. The app does not read from or write to Apple Health, and it does not read any vital sign or sensor.

The Full Access offer screen

Full Access is an optional one-time $9.99 unlock. The screen that offers it is built and delivered by Superwall (Superwall Labs, Inc.), a third-party service that many apps use to show and test their purchase screens. It is the only outside software in the app, and it is involved only with that offer screen — nowhere else.

What Superwall receives:

That the offer screen was shown, and what you did with it (looked at it, closed it, or bought Full Access).
When the app is opened and closed, so it can decide whether and when to show the offer.
Basic technical details about your device: model, iOS version, language and region, screen size, roughly how many days ago the app was installed, and the network (IP) address the request comes from. Superwall creates a random ID for the install so it does not show you the same thing twice; it is not tied to your name.

What Superwall does not receive: anything you study, enter, or track in the app, your name, or your payment details. Superwall does not use this information to advertise to you, and the app does not ask Apple for permission to track you. Superwall handles the data it receives under its own privacy policy at superwall.com/privacy. For the first three days after you install the app, every deck and tool is unlocked and no offer screen is shown; after that, using the app without buying Full Access still works and simply keeps the paid features locked.

Reminders

Study Calendar reminders are scheduled and shown by your iPhone or iPad. They are never sent from a server, so no reminder — and nothing in it — travels over the internet. The app asks for notification permission only when you set your first reminder, and you can turn reminders off at any time in iOS Settings.

Links to other websites

Some screens link out — to the NBRC, the AARC, CoARC, GOLD, GINA, the CDC, the FDA's DailyMed, and similar authorities, and to the source and license pages for the lung-sound recordings and chest X-ray images. Those pages open in a Safari view inside the app, and once you are there you are on that organization's website under their privacy policy, not ours. Respiratory Study Buddy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

Children

Respiratory Study Buddy is intended for respiratory therapy students and practicing professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and neither the app nor Superwall knowingly collects information from children.

Deleting your information

Deleting the app from your device removes everything it has saved. Because none of it was ever sent to us, there is nothing for us to delete on our end and no request you need to make.

California privacy rights

SkillQuestApps is based in California, and this section describes your rights under California law (the CCPA/CPRA) whether or not you live there. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have — there is no data broker relationship or advertising network involved, and Superwall is a service provider that acts on our instructions, not a party we sell data to. Because the app has no server and no account, we do not hold a profile of you to access, correct, or delete on your behalf; everything is already on your own device, under "Deleting your information" above. If you believe we are mistaken about any of this, contact us using the email below.

International users

If you are outside the United States, including in the EU, EEA, or UK, the same practices described on this page apply to you: nothing you study, enter, or track is transmitted anywhere. The only information that leaves your device is the offer-screen information handled by Superwall described above, and only around the Full Access offer. We do not operate servers of our own, so any cross-border transfer is limited to what Superwall involves under its own privacy practices; Superwall is a US-based company.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe — adding an account, a sync service, analytics, or anything else that sends your information somewhere — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
