What's in the app?

Respiratory Study Buddy is a study companion for respiratory therapy students preparing for board exams. It includes a large flashcard bank organized into decks — each card backed by an explanation, a registry tip, and a clinical pearl — plus practice quizzes, a full-length mock exam, branching CSE clinical-simulation cases with a decision review, an ABG Calculator that shows its formulas and step-by-step math, a lung-sounds learning center, a chest X-ray reference atlas, a ventilator lab, illustrated waveform and reference notes, and a study calendar.

How does the free trial and the unlock work?

The app is free to download. For the first 3 days after you first open it, every deck and tool is unlocked so you can try the whole thing. After that, a free sampler stays available, and a one-time $9.99 Full Access purchase unlocks everything permanently — no subscription, no ads, no account.

I reinstalled the app and it is asking me to pay again.

Open the unlock screen (Settings › Unlock Full Access, or tap any locked feature) and choose Restore Purchases to re-sync your one-time purchase from your Apple ID. No new charge is made.

How does studying work?

Pick a deck, then tap a card to flip it and reveal the answer, a plain-language explanation, a registry tip, and a clinical pearl. Mark each card Got it or Missed it as you go — your progress is saved on your device.

Does the app send my data anywhere?

No. Your study progress, scores, saved cards, calculator entries, and calendar dates stay on your device — there is no account and no server. The only component that involves the internet is the screen that offers the Full Access unlock, which is provided by Superwall and receives only basic device details and whether the offer was shown or purchased. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, and the in-app Audio Credits and Medical Image Credits pages for where the lung-sound recordings and X-ray images come from.

I think a question or answer is wrong.

Clinical guidelines and exam blueprints change over time, and mistakes are possible despite our best effort. Email us the deck name and the question text and we will take a look.

Does the app work on iPad?

Yes — Respiratory Study Buddy is a universal app and supports both iPhone and iPad.

Is this app affiliated with the NBRC?

No. Respiratory Study Buddy is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Board for Respiratory Care or any other testing organization. Its content is independently written and is not actual exam material.
