Privacy Policy
Updated October 13, 2026
Huddle Buddy helps families share care for someone they love. That means you trust us with personal and health information about them and about you. This policy explains what we keep, who can see it, and the choices you have. Huddle Buddy is made by SkillQuest Apps (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- We don’t sell your information, and we don’t show ads.
- We don’t send health information to advertising or analytics companies.
- What you add to a huddle is seen only by the people in that huddle, and only the parts the huddle’s admins let them see.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time (More → Delete my account).
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work:
- Account: your email address (to send sign-in codes), the name you choose, and your device’s time zone (so evening summaries arrive at 7 PM where you are).
- What you and your family add to a huddle: the loved one’s name and photo, ER Mode details (such as conditions, allergies and emergency contacts), medications and doses, appointments, tasks, contacts, updates, photos, comments and documents.
- The U.S. state your loved one lives in, if an admin sets it, to show local help programs. We never ask for an address.
- A push notification token for your phone, if you turn notifications on.
- Subscription status: whether you have Premium and when it renews. Apple handles the payment itself; we never see your card details.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your huddle to its members, send the notifications and daily summaries you’ve chosen, and keep your account signed in.
- To know whether a huddle is covered by Premium.
- To keep the service safe, fix problems and answer you when you write to us.
Huddle Buddy organizes and shares information. It never diagnoses or gives medical or dosing advice.
Who can see what
Each huddle is private. Its admins choose who joins and what each person can see: for example, a hired caregiver might see medications and the schedule but not family photos or documents. Notifications never include medication names, so they’re safe on a lock screen.
If you leave a huddle or are removed, you lose access right away. What you posted stays in the huddle for the others.
Who helps us run Huddle Buddy
We use a few service providers. They process information only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage (servers in the United States).
- Resend: sends sign-in codes and evening summary emails.
- Expo: delivers push notifications to your phone.
- Apple: handles App Store purchases and subscriptions.
- Superwall: shows the subscription screen and tells us when a purchase or renewal happens. It receives an account identifier and subscription events, plus basic device and screen-interaction details about the subscription screen. It doesn’t receive your huddle’s content.
- Netlify: hosts the web version of the app, where invited family can join from a browser.
- Namecheap: hosts skillquestapps.com, where this policy lives.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent personal information.
- We don’t use advertising SDKs or track you across other apps and websites.
- We don’t use your health information for marketing.
- We don’t collect your location, contacts or microphone. The camera and photo library are used only when you choose to add a photo.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete something, it’s removed from the app right away. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and sign-in details and remove you from every huddle; anything you posted stays in those huddles without your name. Huddles you were the only member of are deleted with all their files. Copies in our database provider’s backups are overwritten within a few days.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your information in the app.
- Turn notifications and summary emails on or off in More.
- Delete your account in the app (More → Delete my account).
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us anything about privacy, at huddlebuddy-support@skillquestapps.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and stored with access rules that are checked on our servers, so each person can reach only the huddles and sections they’re allowed to. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you promptly, as the FTC’s Health Breach Notification Rule requires.
Children
Huddle Buddy is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. A loved one’s information may of course be about a child when a family uses Huddle Buddy to care for them.
Not a medical provider
We are not a health care provider or health plan, so HIPAA doesn’t apply to Huddle Buddy. We still treat what you share with the same care.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and for important changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
